The hardness of the tungsten knife is about 10k. For some materials with less complex structures, a tungsten knife can be used for processing. And compared to diamonds, tungsten knives have a very big advantage, that is, diamonds can only be used for material processing at room temperature. Once these materials are heated, they can no longer be processed with diamonds. But the tungsten knife is different. Tungsten knives can be processed regardless of whether they are materials at room temperature, materials that have not been heated, or materials that have been heated. One is parallel milling, in which the rotation direction of the milling cutter and the cutting feed direction are the same. At the beginning of the cutting, the milling cutter bites the workpiece and cuts the chips behind it.

The second is reverse milling, the rotation direction of the milling cutter is opposite to the cutting feed direction. Before cutting, the milling cutter needs to slide on the workpiece for a period of time, the cutting thickness is zero at the beginning, and the cutting thickness reaches ZUI at the end of the cutting.

In forward milling, the cutting force presses the workpiece toward the worktable, and in reverse milling, the cutting force causes the workpiece to leave the worktable. Due to the good cutting effect, the general choice is milling. Reverse milling is only considered when the machine has thread clearance problems or problems that cannot be solved by forward milling.
